Malware Protection

It’s very hard to find data to show people who don’t care or don’t know about malware. People may not know the details, but almost everyone knows it’s a significant risk. FlashStart blocks malwares, botnet, phishing, ransomware and many other threats with global, top-class protection feeds.

Content filter

Content filtering is a way to block web content you deem inappropriate. These may be sites that are dangerous, distracting, or unsavoury.
High protection customization according to over 90 system blacklist categories updated 24×7.

Geoblocking

Stop accessing countries with a reputation for ransomware, malware and other risks.

Search engine protection

Remove offensive search results (e.g. porn or violence) from Google, Bing, and YouTube.

Reports by categories and macro-categories visited, in real time and scheduled by e-mail.

MS Active Directory

Pro+ version allows for integration with both on-premise and cloud-based Active Directory environments.
This is done using a native MS Windows Connector Plug-in.

On-premise DNS (CloudBox)

The idea is to fully optimise the filter to cater to your own needs. However, this is not a dedicated appliance, but rather a very light application that runs on existing IT systems within the end user. It should permit a latency performance trending to under 5ms.

FlashStart protects you

Our protection against malware is updated automatically from a database of about 5 million identified internet threat sources as quickly as every 30 minutes.
Artificial intelligence and lab analysis are used to create 85 internet content categories. It’s easy to create profiles that remove certain content types, thus enforcing the organisation’s internet usage policy.

Community Sourced Threats Lists

FlashStart offers high quality, commercial grade threat feeds with low false positives. It also provides access to community-based threat feeds which can be included, if desired.

Aggressive Malware

FlashStart mitigates a wide range of malware including ransomware, cryptowall, virus, trojans and many other threats. A detailed list is provided within the dashboard. Threats are sourced from high quality commercial sources with low false positives. Many other services rely on inferior community based feeds.

Phishing Threats

A defence is provided preventing accidental access to web sites used to collect personal details for the specific intention of phishing attacks. These sites are often highly targeted to specific industries or groups.
This is an important group of applications that are probably unwanted. It includes activities like advertising pop-ups and browser hijacking.

Granular Filtering (Pro+ only)

The Pro+ product allows FlashStart to be deployed with individual profiles or device-specific profiles.

Scheduled Access

Access to content types can also be permitted by scheduling at times of day/week, as desired.

Intelligent Blacklisting

If you need to blacklist certain sites (e.g. facebook.com), FlashStart will automatically suggest blocking the associated CDNs and country-level domains (e.g. facebook.co.uk).

How it works

The FlashStart Cloud runs on geographically diverse server farms using Anycast network technology, providing high service availability and low latency. Filtering is implemented using DNS technology which has an unperceivable impact on the internet performance of end users.
Pro+ is integrated with a Microsoft Active Directory environment to provide more granular blocking, logging and reporting activities.

Easy to Install and deploy

Pro version requires no new hardware or software to implement but simply relies on DNS redirection on any network router.
Many routers can be set up with just a few keystrokes or in just a few minutes.
Pro+ version allows integration with both on premise and cloud based Active Directory environments.
