The common goal of all the players who supply internet services is to be fast.
What is an Anycast network
Anycast is a network technique whereby the same IP address corresponds to several hosts. The network then chooses only one address to which it sends the user’s request, based upon the costs and upon the server’s “status.”
In addition to speed, the Anycast network grants full availability of its protection services: if it detects an overloaded server, it sends the request on to the next, nearest node. Since no client configuration is necessary, all of this happens within fractions of a second.
Another advantage concerns the ease of management because the need to configure different DNS servers is avoided, having instead a unique IP address, configured in every position.
Anycast Network Safety
The Anycast network is proactively monitored 24/7 by our NOC and guarantees very high performance, not only in terms of speed but also in terms of safety, with several strong points:
» Total redundancy with numerous data centers active at the main, national exchange points, on every continent;
» Scalable load balancing on intelligent resource systems with automatic provisioning;
» Average 99,62% up time (source: Dnsperf.com) and extremely low latency in response;
» A 24/7 protection from DDOS attacks with traffic mitigation and black-holing of malicious traffic;
» Platform monitoring 24/7;
» Highly reliable Tier-1 carriers, infrastructures, and data centers.
